Ride 75 ATV Adventure Page 3 Part 2
Like I said we had no idea what road was good or worth while to take. On the way in we did see this turn off for Bull Canyon Trailhead. On the way out we took it to have a look. The sign said 6 miles if I remember correctly.
We really screwed up, neither Glenn or me got a really good picture of the road. The road was very smooth bordering steep drop offs. Not dangerous but I wouldn’t recommend racing to the top. The view on the way up was at least good enough to qualify as spectacular and possible my highest rating of “Warning sensory overload” at places. The 2 pictures are positioned relative to our locations. We looked up and took their picture and they looked down and took our picture. Both of these were taken with zoom lenses at a much greater distance than shown.
Just to restate what I have said before. In the picture is 2 (red) Honda Recons @ 229cc and 2 (green) Polaris Sawtooths at 199cc. The big boy (not shown) is Glenn’s Polaris Hawkeye @300cc. See you just don’t have to spend a lot of money or have a huge ATV. Only the Hawkeye has 4WD.
I guess this is Bull Canyon. This looks like great place to hike around. The canyon seems to have a good mix of plants with some pine tree stands. The canyon itself appears to wind to the right. The canyon is much larger than it may appears to you in the picture. I don’t think you could hike to the end and back in 1 day.
I think this is Moody point or at least the trail seemed to go off that way. Again this is with a Zoom lens and much further that it may seem in the picture.
We left the top with sufficient time to make it back to the trucks before dark. This is a view for the road heading back to Roosevelt Lake
Water crossing during our ride. Even our 2 WD units cross with no problem. I have no idea how deep it would have to be before we would have a problem?

This was a very good low stress place to ride. As long as the Pine Forest are closed due to really deep snow we will have to concentrate on the lower elevation. It will be too hot in the summer to explore these areas so now is the time!
