This is the same ride as the last one only moving around the canyon further to the east.

The weather was about perfect. Once again it is great being off work on Friday. We are the first ones here and about the time we are leaving the rest of the world is just getting here. If you can tell this is the same parking spot.
As we head east the terrain changes in many spots to that high desert juniper type trees. The forest is extremely quit in here. (Right) No, I don’t know how my ATV stays so shinny. Yes, this is the original Honda ATV from Jan 95 so it’s coming up on 3 years and the wife’s Polaris is coming up on 2 years.
Some of the roads going back to the canyon were lets say “irritating to your backside”. The first look at the canyon made the ride worth it.
We hit the end of the trail and the Jack-Pot. I can’t find this hiking trail on any maps that I have. This is almost abandoned. There is no sign but it does have one of those message boxes. Someone left hiking sticks at the entrance but they are very old and brittle. The path going down into the canyon looks sweet! I just don’t know how the normal person could get in here. The road would require a short wheel base with high clearance & narrow vehicle??? Great for ATVs !!!!
Within a few miles the forest changed back to the Ponderosa Pines. I think we have a great place for lunch.
I guess some of these trails are only passable with an ATV. This one almost looked like a trap. LOL The forest is just ready to turn colors. It should be just a few more weeks until it is in "full color".

This area has large sections of fairly new forest. This area is thick but only shows a few really old trees. Some of the smaller trees show some black like they survived a fire. It’s all here Giant Ponderosa to scrubby Junipers and within a few miles of each other.
OOPS ! The sun is slipping down on us we have to make our run back to the truck before the temperature plunges.

Here it is, 58 degrees when we got to the truck. Just as we got done loading and almost needed flashlights the temperature was 53 degrees. This would not be a good place to get lost and be out too late.
Note : We will not ride for a few weeks due to the start of hunting season and safety concern the next few weeks.
