2nd Sedona Trip 10/31/2008
The last time we adventured to Sedona we explored our way in to find great photo spots at the end of the ride. I’m not complaining, if you look at those pictures from a few rides back they are great but we had limited time and lighting was not optimum. We felt it would have been much better if we had the morning of early afternoon sun. Our plan this time was to be in place at the earliest possible time to catch some morning light and be around the area to try some afternoon shots. I take pictures for fun. My friend Glenn is serious about his pictures. Early morning lighting is not good enough . Glenn went the day before and slept at the GPS location over night to catch the sun coming up.

While we were still driving in, Glenn was in position taking this great picture.
I know we are on a mission to get to the spot and take our morning pictures but,,, when the deer are into the petting zoo mode you just have to give them some attention. They delayed us for a few minutes and posed for us. I guess we are in far enough that they don’t see many hunters.
We finally got in place early enough to get some morning shots.
This is picture #1 untouched, straight from the camera.
We were hoping for a clearer day but you take what you get and live with it.
As you can see when we put the big lens on and try and go the distance the clarity is just not there, but it does confirm the distances we are trying to shoot.
I got my pictures taken and we moved on to explore the area in deeper to find other vantage points for different angels and views.
We got too carried away with the red rocks of Sedona and almost forgot about how nice the fall colors are.
We found many trails leading to the edge. None of the trails looked as if anyone had been there for a very long time.
This is just one of many shots I took. The sun finally found it’s way through the clouds.
