2nd Sedona Trip 10/31/2008
Part 2
We are very distracted with trying to get to the edge to achieve that magic picture. Here is a collection of some of the trails (really narrow forest roads) and random shots we took along the way.
I think the haze actually got worse in the late afternoon.
(The haze is still better than sitting at home !)
I wasn’t able to encourage Glenn into getting out on any of these rocks.
It’s getting late in the day and the sun seems to fall like a rock at this time of the year. Thankfully, the GPS tells use what time it is and what time sundown is at our location. I always plan on giving 2 hour to return (minimum) just in case something happens. We planned on returning using shortcuts back to the main road. Every road we tried was closed so we wasted valuable time. We ended up backtracking and hitting the main forest road as the sun was dipping. We were safe but late.
Thank goodness we didn’t start our return trip any later.
Glenn had a deer encounter possibly at the same place we did in the morning. These deer show no fear of ATV’s or people.
If you look at the picture closely, I think this is a new mommy deer ,,,,, wrong time of the year isn’t it ??
Against my better judgment, I have posted the map. This is a first ! I have only done this because this is an easy + safe ride. Make sure you get a very early start especially at this time of the year. Take extra supplies and layered clothing. The temperature can change within minutes and will usually hover around freezing at night. This ride is about 70 miles so have enough gas to go 100+ in case you screw up. BRING YOUR CAMERA
