Sheeps Crossing on the Verde (TOUR) 4/17/2009
The wife has had it with the desert riding. She is calling the Forest Service and they tell her “the forest is still closed and will not open for a week or two”. Out of desperation, she concedes to one more desert trip. As luck would have it Glenn, Jim and his wife December have never been to the bridge and are ready to ride. Jim also bought his wife a nice new Honda Rancher and it needs a good break-in ride.
(Also see ride 100)
Look like Long Horns to me.
The roads are easy, its just a long way to the river. We have a great spot to rest along Tangle Creek
It’s always a relief to get that 1st little glimpse of the Verde River in the distance.
Many miles later we are finally there. Hey! No kissing on the bridge.
December said she was afraid of heights ,,,,, but she walked the bridge OK. Connie has been up so many fire towers now that something like this is not a problem at all.
Many of the cliff walls in this area have very interesting patterns and almost look man made.
(Left) December and Jim down on the Verde River just looking at the beach area. I’m waiting to see if she puts that new ATV in the water. --- NO
(Right) Glenn thinking his ATV is a jet ski and heading up stream.
She seems pretty confident on that new Rancher, maybe it’s the electric shift.
I think I have seen this before. Maybe because this is my 3rd time here.
See what 1 year of ATV riding can do ! Left picture about 14 months ago (see ride 100) . Right picture -80+ lbs. This should be a good excuse for your wife and you to get ATV’s. LOL
Get off the couch !
