Gooseberry Springs Loop 6/12/2009
Yes, I know I have been to Gooseberry Springs. Glenn has not been here before and I have arranged to go on a loop that should show him some of the highlights and serve as a good overview of the area. Our main objective is too just get into the woods and away from the city and the heat. This is a great time for Glenn to try out his new camera and for me to just photograph stuff that I usually would not have time to do. You never know what will draw our attention.
I hate horses but for some reason I like to photograph them? (They make my mouth water,, yum,, horse steak !)
This is a really good photo op, the old Mormon Lake Lookout Tower.
If anyone wants to see the remains of the old cabin, your time is limited. With just a few more good wind storms, it may be down for the count. The tower is steal and structurally (maybe) OK. The bottom steps have been removed to keep people off. This site is of some historical significance and worth visiting.
The next stop was the wind sculptures. I thing it is like sand or volcanic ash. Many different colors and windblown shapes.
We moved east out of the forest area, across the high plans, over to Lake Kinickinick
We seen the lake. They should have named it “Chocolate Lake” LOL ,,, Back to the trees !
Doesn’t take much to make us happy. (But we aren’t sitting on the couch !)

Gooseberry Springs
We had a nice day, took lots of pictures, and most of all got out of the city. At the end of the day, all the deer and elk started to move around. They didn’t seem overly concerned with our presence. I think these were the first we seen all day.
The causeway at Allan Lake Landing is a great place to levitate.
(LOL)
